How To Download an MP3 from our Website

kristinBlog

Words You Need To Know The Meaning Of:

MP3: An MP3 is an audio file that can be played on your computer and certain devices, like smartphones (iPhones, Blackberrys, Droids, etc.), MP3 players, and tablets. MP3s purposely remove audio information in order to create a smaller file size. This is why they don’t sound quite as good as the original file.

Download: take a file off the internet and put it on your computer.

Rip: to take a file off a CD or DVD and put it on your computer. The audio files on a CD are .cda files, which can only be read by CD players. That is why we rip them off the CD and create .mp3 files.

Encode: to take a audio file and make it another type of audio file (e.g., taking a .wav file and creating a .mp3 file)

Our tutorial uses iTunes. If you don’t have it, it can be downloaded from the Apple website (click here to go there). Install it as you would any other program.

To download studies from our website:

  1. Open your browser (Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox, or Chrome).

  2. Go to northcountrychapel.com/studies and choose the book you want, then the study.

  3. Right click on link that says “To Download: right click here, save as”. Your browser may say something like “save link as” or “save target as”. Click on that.

  4. In the window that pops up, choose where you want to save your file. You may want to create a folder in your “My Music” folder, or you can put it on your Desktop, or in the “Downloads” folder. It’s up to you, just remember where you saved it. You are welcome to change the name of the file, but our numbering system will keep them in bible order (rather than alphabetical).

  5. Click save. The file will download to whatever location you chose. This will take a few minutes.

  6. Open the folder you just saved the MP3 file to.

  7. Open iTunes and drag the file into the main iTunes window (your file will probably not look like a really cool traffic cone, but don’t worry about that).

  8. If you lose track of the file, you can do a search for it in the upper right hand corner.

  9. Click play, or double click on the file to play it.
