This Week

Movie Night
“Second Glance” is an encouraging film that’s safe for the whole family. High school senior Dan doesn’t think he’s making an impact for the Lord. He thinks he’s missing out on all the fun and that the Christian life has too many restrictions on him. One day, he wishes he’d never become a Christian, gets his wish, and then sees things from a very different perspective. Join us in the Sanctuary on Saturday, September 19. The doors open at 6:00 pm; the movie begins at 7:00 pm.

Children’s Ministry
Would you be able to help? At 7:00 pm at our Friday Service, a Helper in the Nursery is needed on the 4th and 5th Fridays of the month, and on a casual basis. Helpers can be 14 years old or older to serve. Please stop by the Info Center or call the church office at 208-773-7100 if you have any questions. Thank you.

Quilting and Handicrafts Group
Join us in the Fellowship Hall on Saturday, September 26, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm; if you haven’t already attended one of our gatherings, it’s not too late. Everyone is welcome to attend; bring whatever project you’re working on, or just come and visit.

Harvest Festival
We are blessed to celebrate God’s provisions, grace, and mercy at our Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 3, from noon to 3:00 pm. We’ll enjoy a variety of family activities, great fellowship, bouncy houses, food, games, music, and more. Sign-up sheets are at the Info Center for those willing to help in a variety of areas. Let your friends and neighbors know that everyone is welcome to attend.

Chapel Bookstore
Did You Know? Our Coffee Shop and Bookstore aren’t just open before and after service; they are both open during the week. Enjoy some coffee and a good book. The Coffee Shop and Bookstore are open Tuesday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Fridays, 8:00 am to 6:45 pm. See you there! You may call the Bookstore directly by dialing 208-629-2427.

Pencil Pouches for Operation Christmas Child
*It’s time to start thinking about Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes and all the children that will receive one.
Each child receives only one shoebox for their lifetime, and many treasure them even as they grow into adults.
*Many of the boxes have life-changing effects for children. When they receive the shoebox, they also hear the Gospel and have an opportunity to receive Jesus as their Saviour.
*Many of the children live in poverty, and their parents cannot afford to send them to school because they cannot afford to buy the school supplies that they need. They miss out on getting an education and thereby continue in poverty.
*If you would like to make a difference in a child’s life simply by providing school supplies, sponsor a Pencil Pouch or more than one as the Lord leads you. Each pencil pouch will contain two pencils with cap erasers, a pencil sharpener, a block eraser, a yellow highlighter, a blue pen, a black pen, a glue stick, and a 6-inch ruler. Pencil pouches are hanging on a bulletin board next to the Info Center. There is a sponsorship form inside each one. Fill out the form indicating how many pencil pouches you would like to sponsor at $3 each. Return the form and your donation inside the pencil pouch to the Info Booth. They will be available for the next month.
*At the end of the month, we will purchase all the items in bulk to fill the pencil pouches, and we’ll have a pencil pouch packing party in October as we have done in the past.
God bless you as you minister to children all around the world through a simple shoebox gift.

Prayer Requests

  • Please pray for Pastor Clayton and Lori.
  • Please pray for my sister Nicole. She was diagnosed in January of this year with Stage 1B pancreatic cancer and has endured 12 rounds of chemotherapy. She is scheduled for major surgery to remove the tumor on Monday, September 21st at 7:00 am in North Carolina. Please pray that the tumor be completely removed and for God’s protection over Nicole. Be with her family along with her surgeon and surgical team. May God surround her with His presence and give her deep peace. Take away the fear and anxiety and help her to trust Him one day, one moment at a time.  Thank you.
  • Please pray for my wife. She has bipolar disorder and has had 3 or 4 manic episodes since we were married. She is 77 years old. This latest episode is much more severe than the previous ones. It required her to be in a psychiatric hospital, where she is now. When she was home, her behavior was almost destroying me as well. I was afraid I would crack up too. Please pray for her complete healing and for me also. Thank you.
  • My dad is going to his doctor’s office for a visit today; please pray that it goes well. KY
  • Please pray for my grandson to get a job and be a good employee.
  • I had tingling in my face a few months ago and had a brain MRI about two weeks ago. The result showed some white spots. My neurologist is now testing me for MS. I’m 62. Please keep me in your prayers.
  • Please pray for our pastors.
  • My brothers and sisters, please pray for the Lord to make the pain in my leg go away. LS
  • Please pray for Betty.
  • My mom starts chemotherapy very soon; please pray for her. Thank you. Patricia
  • Please pray for my daughter's mental health. May the Lord show her favor and direct her steps. May she be healed from all spells, depression, anxiety, and fear in the mighty name of Jesus!
  • I'd like to ask everyone to pray for my friend who's going in for a double mastectomy tomorrow.
  • Please pray for Sam, a 12-year-old who is in the hospital with pancreatitis. Thank you.
  • Pray for my son; he is traveling next week and getting prepared to make his move for his new path in life, so that the Lord will continue to protect and lead him.
  • Would you please pray for our son, Michael? He’s 16 and has extreme anger outbursts. We’re trying to get him help. He’s just so angry, and we don’t know where it’s coming from or what to do. I feel like it’s a hopeless situation; I don’t know where to turn.
  • I have financial debts, and am asking for prayer, for our Lord to take care of what I cannot.
  • We currently have to sell our home and have put it on the market.  As the market has slowed somewhat, it has become more difficult to sell. We would appreciate prayers for the speedy sale of our home. It has been a very difficult and stressful time for us. Thank you for your kind thoughts and prayers.
  • I believe I’m facing evil; could you pray for me?
  • My husband had a major health event. Please pray for a full and speedy recovery, and that my business takes off as we need the income. LH
  • I humbly ask for prayer for the healing of my mouth, causing me to be unable to eat. Thank you for your prayers.
  • Please pray for Kolton. He’s had cancer for many years; he’s only 17-years-old.
  • I have tremendous pain in my head. Please pray for the Lord to heal me and take my pain away. Anne
  • Please pray for my mother-in-law, B. My father-in-law keeps bringing really fatty food, like bacon and wine, to the nursing home where she’s staying. He is really trying to clog up her arteries so that she doesn’t live. He hurt her a lot. He has been awful to her. Please pray for my beautiful mother-in-law. She doesn’t deserve it. I know this sounds trivial, but we really love her and would like her to stay on earth for a bit longer. She has dementia, and we really love her. L
  • I need healing prayers for my sinuses. Please pray that I receive my Social Security payment soon. A
  • Please pray for J. He is very ill. Thank you for your prayers.
  • I need prayers, please.

  • All thanks and glory to the Lord for getting my friend in quickly for X-rays, and that their back surgery is scheduled.
