ACTS : The Church Afire

ACTS back ground

A few months ago Reveal started a study in the book of Acts. Following the Spirit’s work through the apostles and early church, we see the Great Commission being lived out.  As we have had a busy summer and now have entered the busier season of the holidays, we can lose sight of what our mission is. We are praying that our study through this book would keep us fresh and refreshed to what the mission set before us is. Paul’s heart and journey remind and inspire us to fall before Jesus and let him give us sight. Join us in praying for these middle school students as we spend the next few months following the Spirit through the early Church.

ESTHER | SILENT SOVEREIGN

Esther 2

Esther is where we will be spending the next several weeks, taking a look at the book of the Bible that never mentions God. We hope to have a lot of fun being challenged to understand this book, as it is strictly a narrative. Scripture usually gives us an insight into the heart of God, instruction for the heart of man, some history, prophecy, or poetry. Esther is just the story of a Jewish girl who finds herself in Susa, a long way from Jerusalem, the capitol of the pagan Persian Empire. We will see how God, even though He is not mentioned, has his fingerprints all over the book of Esther. Steering away from looking for “good” guys and “bad” guys, we hope to see this story through the lens of Jesus and how good He is.

ANCHORED | A SURVEY OF ROMANS

anchored keynote

For the next few months, we will be making our way through Paul’s epistle to the Romans. Though we will be moving through the book fairly quickly, we will be slowing down to zoom in on doctrines and topics that are important for young Christians to get a grasp of early on, to anchor themselves in.

Jr High is a fun, but challenging age group to minister to, and even more challenging to teach. We like to take the group through complete books of the bible, and that takes time. Each student is with us for less than three years, and we would like for them to have an understanding of the big picture of Scripture, Christ’s plan of redemption. Romans is full of personal and practical theology. It’s a great place to take young people to see the grace of God, what it means for them, and for the world.
