Seasoned: Experiential knowledge

A“seasoned pilot”, a “seasoned traveler”, a “seasoned vet”. Our goal as Christians should be to develop a “seasoned relationship” with our Lord.

Salt is used as seasoning, a disinfectant, and to balance fluids for our bodies chemical functions!

By developing that “seasoned relationship” with Jesus, we become the salt of the earth, flavored so pleasantly that others relish and thirst for that genuine life giving truth that only Jesus has to offer to ALL who will come and drink so they may never thirst again!

Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one. Colossians 4:6

It starts with LOVE…

The mission for this event is to help those lacking in certain things and those that have something to give can offer what they have. If you need something and it is available, please take and be blessed.

“If you have two shirts, give one to the poor. If you have food, share it with those who are hungry.” Luke 3:11
“Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.” Heb 13:16

Missions Group, Feb 6

Next meeting is February 6 at 7PM.

On Tuesday, February 6 at 7:00pm in the Rock Chapel, the Samaritan’s Purse film, ‘Facing the Darkness’ will be shown. In 2014, the deadly Ebola virus was becoming epidemic throughout West Africa. Only two relief agencies responded to the growing crisis. One of Samaritan’s Purse doctors contracted the virus and through his courageous struggles alerted the world of the need to address this rapidly spreading pandemic. All are welcome to attend.

Missions group meets at 7pm the first Tuesday of the month in the Rock Church.

Global Missions Group desires to inform and bring an active awareness to others about the efforts and directions of those who pursue and seek the weary or perishing to reconcile them to the Lord as well as encouraging prayers among the saints for this purpose.
Christian missions is obeying Christ, sharing Christ and relying on Christ.

Many people picture a missionary as a person who leaves their job in America to evangelize and plant churches or schools in Africa. Missionary work encompasses far more than that. African Christians reach out to Muslims in the Middle East. College students spend their summer teaching English in Asia. A family in America befriends and witnesses to students from Mexico. A truck driver responds to an international disaster, meeting both physical and spiritual needs.

Christian missions is not limited to international types of ministry. While believers should faithfully support those who travel and go to the unreached, all Christians have the mission to share Christ on the home field with family, friends, coworkers, and the community. All these are missionaries as long as they bring and share Jesus and His life saving eternal message of Good News! The Christian mission of sharing Christ does not end with a sinner’s salvation. The commission was to make disciples, not immature believers. Thus, Christian missions involves not only evangelism but also discipleship.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, “teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matt 28:19-20
