Next meeting: February 14

Part of our program will be an overview by Chuck Carter about the book he recently published entitled Idolatry of the Campus. Chuck had a career as a professor in the University of California system and documents the decline and secular change in university education over the last century.

Reading good literature and background gives us the right worldview as we search out truth in all of the competing voices in our culture. We will also have a book exchange at this time. If you have some good Christian books you are finished with, bring them and we will share with each other. Besides reading the Bible, it is enjoyable on these cloudy winter days to have a good book to read! We will also have time for prayer and sharing.

Seasoned: Experiential knowledge

A“seasoned pilot”, a “seasoned traveler”, a “seasoned vet”. Our goal as Christians should be to develop a “seasoned relationship” with our Lord.

Salt is used as seasoning, a disinfectant, and to balance fluids for our bodies chemical functions!

By developing that “seasoned relationship” with Jesus, we become the salt of the earth, flavored so pleasantly that others relish and thirst for that genuine life giving truth that only Jesus has to offer to ALL who will come and drink so they may never thirst again!

Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one. Colossians 4:6
